RedBlack employs around 20 colleagues at our headquarters in the historic city of York. Our management team includes:
Jane Tyler founded RedBlack Software in 1998 after completing her masters degree in computer science at the University of York.
As well as designing systems for the healthcare, civil engineering and online learning sectors, she is the chief architect of CyBake, Britain’s leading bakery management software suite.
Jane is an executive committee member of the British Society of Baking and she speaks regularly at food business conferences throughout the UK. In 2014, she graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10KSB Ambassador Programme, a select initiative that supports high-growth SMEs.
After starting his career as a client relationship manager at a large FMCG distributor, Martin Coyle joined RedBlack in 2009 as sales manager. In 2012, he was appointed as a director of the company and now oversees its commercial operations.
Martin is also brand manager of the CyBake bakery management suite and Infood food information system. He speaks regularly at food-related conferences throughout the UK and has written for British Baker magazine.
Senior technical architect
Steven first joined RedBlack in 2002 as a software developer.
He went on to take a senior development position at the Food Standards Agency with responsibility for the creation and support of its in-house applications and then worked in a similar role for Capita.
When Steven re-joined RedBlack in 2014, he brought a new depth of technical expertise to our team, especially in web-based technologies. He now heads up the development of all our bespoke and specialist solutions.
When Robert McIlroy joined RedBlack, he already had a unique insight into our CyBake bakery management software.
As a consultant for Doncaster’s award-winning Topping Pie Company, he helped to implement the solution. Improved business controls, particularly in recipe-costing and purchasing, have been key to the firm’s performance.
Prior to that, Robert held various high-level roles at Cooplands (Doncaster) where part of his remit was overall management of the companies’ CyBake system. Robert also has a strong background in the hospitality sector as the long-time director of a large AA four star rated hotel.
After completing an MSc in information processing at the University of York, Andrea returned to her native Germany to work in various roles at GE Capital IT Solutions.
She came back to England in 1999, wrote a popular guide book to working in the UK for fellow Germans, and joined RedBlack in 2004 as project manager.
